How to Upgrade to MIUI 7 on Xiaomi Mi4, Mi4i, Mi3, Redmi Note, Redmi 2 and other phones.


Few days back Xiaomi had showcased the global launch of MIUI 7, the latest version of their ROM in New Delhi. There are quite a lot of new features in MIUI 7 and we had detailed the new features of the new version of MIUI. The company mentioned that the beta version of the new ROM will be released for all devices on Monday.
Now the latest version of MIUI 7 is out for devices and you can now install the latest version.

Here is how to upgrade to MIUI 7


1. First step is to backup your devices for all the personal files. Although the upgrade will NOT wipe your storage, it is always safe to do a backup of your files.

2. Once you have done the backup, you need to download the MIUI 7 ROM from download link given below. Select the Mi phone and you will see the developer build for this phone which is version 7 of MIUI. MIUI 7 is available for all Xiaomi devices including MI Note, Mi4, Mi4i, Mi3, Redmi Note, Redmi 2.

3. Now copy the downloaded ROM to the internal storage of your device. Open the Updater app on your device. Click on the three dots at the top right corner of the updater app and click “Choose Update Package”




4. Now browse for the ROM which you have copied to the phone. Now confirm you want to upgrade. After choosing the right ROM file, your device will begin upgrading. Your device should automatically boot to the new version when the update is completed.

Now your phone will have MIUI 7 installed.

    what is this?
    i have downloaded ROM for Mi 4i, copied ROM in internal memory, browse copied folder by Updater App, i couldn't find any thing which can be selected by Updater App option, all folder showing empty after going till end of any folder.
    showing folders are- 1. data, 2.firmware-update, 3.META-INF, 4.recovery, 5.system (only these 5 folder are showing after browsing through Updater App)
    is it fake post?

      I advice you to backup 1st and format internal memory it might be happened by virus of system error..
      So
      Format and try again

      Put downloaded file in to root of the internal memory not in any folder
      And during the downloading of the file do not puase..



      this is not a fake post bro
      Many people successfully update to miui7 through this...
      Even i tested on my phone.

    finally i have updated my phone with miui 7. thankx dude 4 this post.
    actually i was unzipping downloaded ROM before pasting in internal memory.

    Note: No need to unzip, downloaded ROM (as it is copy and paste in internal memory)

    can u help me update my redmi 1S.
    i have miui version in this device is miui-jhcmibl53.0.
    the problem is that, this version doesn't have Updater App like miui 6, in miui 6 we can dirctly access in downloaded ROM by clicking three dot (right top of phone).
    so can u just help me out to access in downloaded ROM which is in internal memory in redmi 1s
